The Ministry of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development of Sri Lanka intends to invite Expression of Interest from potential investors for following assignment as per the details mentioned there.
The project aims to revitalize salt production in Sri Lanka by rehabilitating the Kurunchathivu Saltern, developing modern salt processing facilities, and recommencing operations through a public Private Partnership (PPP) basis.
The investor will be responsible for financing, developing and operating under a design, build, finance, operate, maintain and transfer model. The period of project will be 20 years, with possible extension subject to Cabinet approval.
