  1. Bidders are informed that the provisions of Public Contract Act No. 3 of 1987 are applicable for tenders exceeding Rs. 5 million. Accordingly all parties involved in the aforementioned tender are required to strictly abide by the said Act throughout the duration of contract. Furthermore, any bidder who wishes to act as an agent, sub-agent, a representative or a nominee for and on behalf of any foreign manufacturer or a supplier is required to register himself with the Registrar of Public Contracts and submit the duly completed registration certificate along with his bid documents.
  1. The bidders should have been in the business of supplying similar goods given above atleast during the last five (5) years.

The bidding documents could also be inspected at the same address during normal office hours on working days.

  1. A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased up to the tender closing date 12th March 2018 during 0900 hrs to 1500 hrs on working days.
  1. Sealed bids accompanied with bid security shall be delivered to Chairman - Ministry Procurement Committee, Ministry of Ports and Shipping, No. 19, Chaithya Road, Colombo 01 by no later than bid closing at 1500 hrs on 12th March 2018. Bids shall be opened immediately at the same place after closing the tender in the presence of bidders/ bidders’ representatives physically at the bids opening.
