In view of the increasing demand for Chlorine, which is widely used in water purification in Sri Lanka, the Government of Sri Lanka has decided to enhance the national Chlorine supply by creating a buffer stock in the country. The annual Chlorine requirement of Sri Lanka is approximately 2,500 Metric Tons (771 Nos of 900kg capacity cylinders).
